With the end of another month comes another monthly favorites! I really didn't have a ton of favorites for the month, but I thought I would share anyways!
ColourPop Cosmetics Ultra Satin Lip in Hutch
First, photo creds to Lily. We took many tourist pics like this all throughout Paris. Anyways, ColourPop Cosmetics' Ultra Satin Lip in Hutch has been my favorite lip color this month. I love the berry/burgundy lip trend that comes around every fall, and this is my perfect shade. I also matched my eyeliner and boots to this color, but you can't tell in this photo.
I'm a fan of the mom jean trend. I won't deny that fact. My brother, on the other hand, likes to make fun of me for the things I like, including these jeans. Before I left for England, he asked me why I was wearing jeans that went up to my nipples. They don't exactly go up that high, but they are quite high-waisted which I love. My pair is really basic, but I'm obsessing over this embroidered pair which is another huge trend right now.
Who What Wear for Target Sleeveless Turtleneck Dress
I know you can't see the full dress here, but just click this here link and you'll see what it looks like on the model. This dress has been a favorite because it's so versatile. I wore it as shown above for a day at the Louvre in Paris, but I've also worn it to class with a black long sleeve underneath and the same booties (I paid a chunk of change for these so of course I'm going to wear them all the time. Plus, they finally don't hurt like hell anymore when I wear them... unless I mistakenly wear them in Paris where we walked basically across the city and back that day. I held back lots of tears of pain). I think this will be great in the spring as well when it's still cool enough for a thicker dress, but warm enough to go without sleeves. But black and gray in spring? Yes. Always black. Always. (P.S. Matching lips and boots)
Chai Tea Lattes
This is a random favorite, but my drink of choice lately has been a hot chai tea latte. I've lost my liking for coffee (sorry, PSL, we can't be together anymore), so I've been grabbing a chai tea latte whenever I stop at Starbucks. I like to think of it as a treat to myself for making it through Advanced Fashion Product without crying.
#Girlboss by Sophia Amoruso
It took me a month and half to read this book (I don't have a lot of free time, OK?), but I finally finished it this month and loved it! I think Sophia's story is really inspiring, but she makes it clear that she didn't get to where she was without a great idea and a lot of hard work. I haven't personally shopped at Nasty Gal before, but this book makes me want to give my money to a company that has a great leader behind it instead of a big brand that doesn't care as much about their consumers.
Cool Girl by Tove Lo
Tove Lo's latest single has been my obsession this month. I feel like this is me in a song because I'm a cool girl... right?
The Life of Pablo by Kanye West
Honestly, no one in my flat will be surprised by this I'm guessing. I've been listening to this, Travis Scott's album Birds in the Trap Sing and Miguel's Kaleidoscope Dream on repeat all month. I love "Fade" the most and request it whenever we go out. I also love "I Love Kanye" because it's so Kanye. (Side note: Please don't watch this video if you're offended by half naked women, suggestive content or explicit lyrics. I'm simply sharing that I like the song and Kanye's album, not this specific video.)
For any photos taken on my phone (I take all my photos on the HDR setting, by the way), I edit them with VSCO. It's very similar to how you edit photos on Instagram, but comes with way more filters plus ones you can purchase or download for free. My personal favorite is HB1, but I also love using the A filters as well. I never keep the filter on full blast either. I usually lower it down to 5 or 6 and then use other editing tools like sharpen, contrast, saturation and exposure to get the perfect photo.
More to come on this tomorrow. :)
I hope you enjoyed this month's favorites! Were we surprised that Barcelona beat out Paris for my favorite trip of the month? I definitely was. Check back tomorrow for more about my tapas-filled weekend!
