I was trying to do a new blog post with lip swatches every day this week, but I got lazy and instead of just powering through this on Wednesday, I waited for today. So happy Friday and here are some nice swatches and a little review of the Nyx Soft Matte Lip Creams.
Stockholm - Mid-tone beige pink
Love. This is my perfect nude.
Antwerp - Mid-tone yellow-toned pink
Honestly, I didn't know there was such a thing as a yellow-toned pink, but it's actually pretty nice.
Istanbul - Clean Pink
A little on the light side for me, but still a nice color.
Addis Ababa - Bright fuschia
Another love. This is the perfect bright lip for spring.
San Paulo - Plummy-pink
I love anything plum-toned, so this right here is my perfect pink.
Abu Dhabi - Deep rose-beige
This would be in my top five for best nude lipstick shades.
Monte Carlo - Deep cranberry red
Not my favorite shade of red, honestly.
Milan - Mid-tone blue-toned pink
A great bright pink for spring/summer.
Buenos Aires - Soft coral
I wish this was a little bit brighter. I had to build up the color a lot on my lips which made it look chunky and flaky instead of smooth.
Sydney - Soft lavender
I love this color, but this was another one I had to really build up. Too many layers just doesn't look great with these lip creams.
Athens - Matte peach beige
Another great nude shade and one of my favorites of this line.
Ibiza - Matte deep rose pink
Sorry for the bad photo quality of this one, but I really love this color.
Prague - Matte merlot
Heart eyes emoji x 1000
Copenhagen - Matte rich plum
I had some trouble getting good pigmentation with this color as well. The pastel shades and dark shades seem to have this problem.
Transylvania - Matte deep violet
My lips were starting to burn at this point if you can't tell my the red ring around my mouth. I really love this shade in the tube, but on the lips it really isn't that pigmented which is very disappointing.
Paris - Hot pink
The city of love deserves a true hot pink like this. Just the perfect shade to describe my favorite city.
Havana - Purple with blue undertone
I was obviously feeling very purple today. This is yet another shade I had trouble with which is very sad.
Vancouver - Deep purple
This shade disappointed me the most because I could not get a smooth swatch or an even pigmentation and I was so so excited about this color.
So Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream? Worth it? This is one of my favorite lipstick formulas on the market and it's said to be the OG matte lipstick. They are very, very soft and creamy and comfortable on the lips. I can barely feel them when I'm wearing one. These do transfer a little because they aren't a liquid lipstick, but they do dry down almost completely matte. For $5.99 a piece, they're a great deal, especially when Ulta has their buy one get one free or buy one get one 50 percent off sales. I would advise you to stay away from the really dark shades or the pastels because they don't have great color payoff, but other than those few, I love this line of lip products from Nyx. And the names are super cute. It's going to be my goal when I'm in Europe to wear each color in the city that it's named after.
Velociraptor-ing into the weekend.

Damn Halle, back at it again with the lip swatches/review. Today, we're switching from lipstick to lip gloss and checking out the Anastasia Beverly Hills glosses. So let's jump into some swatches and then a short review will follow.
Undressed - Café au lait
This is a great nude gloss that would be perfect over a nude lipstick. I personally think this is a little too light for my taste, but it's still a great basic color for your gloss collection.
Dainty - Soft peach
Love this color. The name is really fitting because it's the perfect ladylike gloss.
Peony - Chic baby pink
Perfect spring color. I can see this being a regular in my spring makeup collection this year.
Vintage - Victorian rose
I really love this shade. It's the perfect "nude" gloss in my opinion because you know I love my darker colors.
Metallic Rose - Shimmery dusty rose
Another favorite of mine. I love layering this gloss over liquid lipsticks for a touch of shimmer.
Maui - Soft coral
I don't think this is really a "soft" coral, but I think this color is great for the summer.
Gilded - Sparkly antique gold
Hands down, this is my favorite shade of the glosses I own. It's just so majestic.
So ABH Lip Gloss? Worth it? This is a pricey gloss, $16 each, and I think they're decent. While they're very pigmented, they're also very thick and sticky which I don't really care for. I know it's hard to find a non-sticky gloss, but these are extra sticky. On the plus side, they smell like vanilla cake. They also come in over 30 shades which is great because there's basically a color for everyone. Overall, these aren't my favorite lip glosses (I like Marc Jacobs the best), but they're still a good gloss if you're willing to spend a pretty penny.
Have a glossy Tuesday!
